Anointed to Shine
Read 2 Corinthians 3:17
In the Old Testament, there are many powerful examples of the Holy Spirit working through people to show His might. For example, the Holy Spirit walked in the furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, protecting every hair on their heads as their lives were threatened.
Another example is when God anointed Daniel in the lion’s den as he faced what was sure to be his death. Because of the power of the Spirit, the lions lied down in submission like big house cats. It was also the Spirit who moved on the prophets and the writers, sending God’s Word forth to bring wisdom and knowledge. But one thing was different in the Old Testament than what we see today. After God’s people wrote Scripture, or prophesied, or after the miracles happened, the Holy Spirit did not stay with them.
Praise God we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit as our constant counselor! God gives the same power to everyone who surrenders their life comes to the truth of the Living God. The anointing of the Holy Spirit doesn’t develop over time. God anoints you with the same power as Daniel, Isaiah, Esther and David the moment you surrender to Him. Because of this, you can cast out the demons in your home, in your family, and in your life!
Because of your positioning, when you walk into the store, demons see the anointing. When you walk into the bank, or the library, or your school, the shining light of the Holy Spirit makes the darkness flee. God has given you the ability to change everything around you. Therefore, you can sow love where there’s hate and harmony where there’s discord. You can be joyful while at work. You can be patient while with your kids, and thoughtful to your spouse. Most of all, since God has anointed you, you can bring the Gospel to everyone you come in contact with. God’s power is not limited by our weaknesses! He has no limitations!
Get it into your mind and your heart right now that you have the same power within you that raised Jesus from the dead! Satan doesn’t want you to believe that. He doesn’t want you to allow God to work through you. Satan knows that the truth outshines his lies, and that God saves people through the work of the Holy Spirit. So, don’t let the enemy dim your light! Resist the devil and he must flee!
Jesus went to Calvary so that you could live under God’s anointing. We’re very limited on time; Jesus is coming back soon. So, let God anoint you. Let Him use you to reach the dying world! He will take you from glory to glory, creating a testimony you could have never imagined. God chose you to shine His light to the way of salvation!
