Commanded to Shine
Read 2 Corinthians 4:6
God is the One who has initiated every instance of salvation, commanding our hearts to Him. And, just as He commanded our hearts to him, He also commands the light within us to shine out into darkness of the world.
The Accuser brings the opposition you hear, the voice saying you’re not good enough, and that you’ll never change. He also says you’re unworthy of God’s love. But, according to God’s Holy Word, we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the dark principles of this world. And God has given us the power to cast down these accusations and every stronghold that comes against us! Because of this, you can look that devil in the eye and say, “Listen here, Satan! I know my weaknesses, my lusts, passions, failures and faults. But every time you point them out, it shows me the grace of God. So bring it on! Because it only causes me to praise Him more!”
God wants to be in every area of your life. The purpose of Calvary is to meet us in bondage and weakness, and to change us and give us something worth living for. Therefore, the more the Lord has forgiven you of, the more you will want to praise Him! We know that if it had not been for the Lord, we’d still be walking in darkness. We have totally abandoned all evil and shameful things only because of grace. And it’s only because of grace that we are no longer living in darkness!
Because of grace, the Spirit of Truth is revealed to us. God’s not after our religious rituals. That’s not what He wants from us. Instead, He wants to live in you and walk with you! He wants to bring the Gospel to your life. The Gospel includes restoration, recovery, revival, and renewal to every area of your life. He wants to restore and recover what the enemy has stolen. He wants to revive your soul an renew your mind!
The Gospel is a message of glory that says God wants to take you higher than you thought you could ever go. The same God that commanded the light to shine out of darkness has also commanded the light to shine in your heart! We have the Spirit of God inside of us! So, that means everywhere we go, the Spirit is there. Since the Spirit is in you, it shows that God has commanded the darkness to pay attention. We are the light of the world, a city that’s set on a hill that cannot be hidden! Go out in the world knowing that God is commanding you to shine in the darkness!
