Committed to Shine
Read Numbers 6:22-27
God’s grace has always been with us, since the creation of Adam. Before Jesus went to Calvary for our sins, grace was already here. We see in this Scripture that He has committed His grace to shine upon us. Because of this gift, we must also commit to shine His light into the darkness of the world!
First of all, you must know that God is for you, He’s not against you! Grace means He meets you where you are to take you where you need to be. Therefore, His grace comes to you in your weakness. Even through sin, His light still shines bright! Darkness does not surprise or intimidate God. He’s got more grace than we’ve got sin! When weakness begins to overtake, His strength begins to rise up, and we can say His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9)!
1 Corinthians 15:10 says I am what I am only because of God’s grace. It’s not will power, knowledge nor heritage that can pick us up out of the pit. Titus 2:11-12 says that it’s the grace of God that has appeared to all men, teaching us, denying worldly lust and ungodliness, that we should live soberly and righteously in this world. So, we can’t bring change by having a new attitude, or a new outlook. There’s no self-help book that can bring lasting change within our souls. Only by the grace of God can we walk a righteous walk!
So, how can we invite the grace of God into our lives? It surely isn’t by trying to get control of everything. It’s not by becoming self-sufficient. His grace isn’t present when we’re seeking an independent lifestyle that says, “I’ve got it all together. I’m in control of my life.” 1 Peter 5:5 is one of many verses that says God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. If we will cry out to Him, acknowledging our weakness, He will meet us there! He’s a very present help in a time of need!
Through all that God does for us, there should be a stirring within us to reflect this grace outwardly. We are quickly approaching judgment. But, we are not there yet! We are still in a period of grace. He wants to bless us when we rise, and when we lie down to sleep. The Lord wants to protect us and keep us, even through the disasters and tragedies that are coming upon the earth. He wants our lives to be a testimony, an irresistible drawing to the souls which are still lost.
Be committed to shine! We have a responsibility in these last days. This is a time for you to fight against the darkness! For you to rise up! Push back against the despair and destruction we’re seeing in the world. This isn’t hell! God’s grace and mercy is still on this earth! So, life your head and say, “I am committed to shine!”
We love y’all and we’re praying for you! We’re saving you a seat at Community Family Church!
