“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him.” Psalms 128:1

Did you ever wonder where true and lasting happiness comes from?  We have all been happy for a season or a time.  But circumstances, behaviors, and life in general have been known to zap our happiness right out from under us.  Thank God, He provides a recipe for true and lasting happiness.  The Bible has a clear plan for you and me regarding how we can remain happy, even in the darkest of times.  Your lasting happiness depends on three things:  JOY, CONTENTMENT, SATISFACTION.  Friend if you can find joy in this life, contentment in your situation and satisfaction in your soul, you will have found the key to lasting happiness.  And praise God, His Word shares with us how to find all three:

Joy-Joy is an unshakable confidence in God and is a product solely of a born-again experience.  Unless you have been born again, you will not know pure joy.  But if you’ve experienced this life-changing experience, joy is at your fingertips.  The joy we have as born-again Christians provides us access to get what we need from God.  Joy is supernatural and mysterious.  The world doesn’t understand our joy.  We find joy in sorrow, we find joy in pain; that is purely the work of the Holy Spirit in and through us.  What a privilege to be able to find joy even in the darkest of times.

Contentment-Happiness has a direct connection to contentment.  The Bible says godliness with contentment is great gain.  Friend, when you find yourself content in your life and with what you have, watch out, you are about to experience great gain!

Satisfaction-God’s Word says, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”  When you are truly satisfied with God, you, like David, can say beyond the shadow of a doubt, “The Lord is my shepherd and I don’t want anything else.”  Don’t sit around waiting for God to do something in your life.  Tell Him how satisfied you are just to have Him and watch the blessings begin to overflow.

Joy, Contentment, and Satisfaction all begin with praise.  Begin this week praising God regardless of your current situation and watch the transformation take place.  Worship Him and be content with your circumstances and He will bless you tremendously in ALL areas of your life!
