“For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.  The grass withereth and the flower thereof falter away:  but the Word of the Lord endureth forever.” 1 Peter 1: 24-25

There are great analogies to be found in nature and in our walk with Christ.  I live on a farm surrounded by beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers.  Much like the flowers that bloom in the Spring we all begin our lives like a tiny bud, so pure and fragile, created in the image and likeness of God.  Yet when the winds begin to rage and storms of life brew up around us, our beautiful petals are often cut away or torn down.  Yet it is the roots that are buried deep in the ground that allow us to bloom once again.

Friend, in times like these, our roots must go deep.  With drug epidemics (especially heroin here in the state of Kentucky) and a changing world, unless we are firmly planted in the Word of God and our relationship with Jesus is continually growing, we may not likely survive these treacherous times.  Yet, it is for such a time as this, that Christ did come in the flesh to save us of our sins and rescue us from this downtrodden world.  We can rest safe in the arms of Jesus knowing that at the end of our journey here on this earth we will move to spend eternity with Him.

Do you find yourself feeling alone on this journey?  If so, be encouraged to know that God wants to travel with you.  He is the best tour guide you can have, because He is the only one who knows where you are going.  If you haven’t personally asked Jesus to be your tour guide, call on His name, and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and take the lead on this journey.  The Bible says that “ALL who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  If you do know Jesus, begin to diligently acknowledge His presence in your life and home each and every day.  Seek His will in all that you do, and rest assured you will end up exactly where you are supposed to be.
