“But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” Mark 4:29
James 5:7 tells us to “Be patient, for the Lord is coming.” We are also reminded that in the last days the Lord will pour out His Spirit. Women will begin to boldly open their mouths and proclaim the Word of God. Children will dream dreams, and sons and daughters will begin to prophecy. If you are planted in a Spirit-filled church, I believe you are witnessing these very things. The harvest is approaching my friend, and it is going to be a time of great preparation for those who anxiously await the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The Book of Ruth is a beautiful parallel for Christians to follow when preparing for the return of the Lord. Naomi tells Ruth to wash, anoint and don her best garment. In these last days, we are to heed the precious words of Naomi. Now is not the time to rebel, live in sin, and wait to repent at a later day. The harvest is approaching, and we as Christians must prepare and allow the blood of Jesus Christ to wash away our sins. God’s Word also tells us that the anointing destroys the yoke of sin and bondage. In these last days it is now more important than ever to belong to a church where the precious anointing of the Holy Spirit lives and is freely expressed. The Bible says not to “quench the Holy Spirit.” And finally, we are to don our best for the Lord Jesus Christ. Friend, God only wants what is best for you. Yet, in these last days, you must prepare yourself on every level, and just as in the parable of the the ten virgins, be like the five who were ready for their bridegroom, prepared on all occasions to give an account for your belief in Jesus Christ.
If you are waiting for the Lord today, be blessed in knowing that as you allow Him to wash away your sins, constantly pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit and prepare yourself physically and spiritually, you are sure to experience a great harvest in your life!
