“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.”  Psalm 48:1

I often preach the importance of praising God in all circumstances.  Not only is it Biblically sound, but praising God in everything creates an environment in my life where God can really work.  Psalm 48 is a glorious representation of just a few reasons we have for praising God:

  1. The Lord is Great (vs.1)  If for no other reason, we should praise God for His greatness.  His wonderful creation, from massive mountains to delicate flowers.  From the miracle of a new baby to the intricacies of the Earth.  The Lord is great and greatly to be praised!
  2. God is full of lovingkindness (vs. 9)  God does not just give love, He is Love.  He is full of the lovingkindness you and I need and thrive on.  Even when we don’t feel loved by anyone else in this world, God proved His love for us in this, He gave His one and only Son to die for our sins.
  3. His right hand is full of righteousness (vs. 10)  The world craves righteousness and truth.  It cannot be found anywhere but in the presence of the Lord, as we are reminded in Deuteronomy, “The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteous and upright is He.”
  4. He will be our guide (vs. 14)  God will guide our every decision and provide direction at every turn.  Psalm 32:8 is a powerful reminder, God will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go. He will guide me with His eye.                                                                                                                                  With His mighty love, righteousness and ability to lead and guide your every step, isn’t the Lord worthy of your praise and admiration today?  Praise Him all ye people!
